According to the decision of the Supreme Electoral Council published in the Official Gazette, local administration elections will be held on March 31, the last Sunday of March 2024.

The Supreme Electoral Council’s decision on the change of address and updating of voter lists for the March 31 Local Elections was published in the Official Gazette.

Last Day For Change Of Address October 1

Voters must make address changes on the e-Government application or at the population directorates by October 1 in order to vote where they will be on voting day.

However, the SBE will provide convenience for those affected by the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6.

In order for voters in this situation to vote more easily, new measures will be taken as in the Parliamentary General Election, and voters in the earthquake zone will be able to easily move their addresses.

Article 8 of the Law on the Election of Local Authorities and Neighborhood Mukhtars and Boards of Elders, titled “Election period”, states that “Local Authorities elections are held every five years. January 1 of the fifth year of each election period is the starting date of the election. The last Sunday of March of the same year is the voting day.”

Therefore, the election calendar for the local government elections to be held on Sunday, March 31, 2024 will start on January 1.
