WhatsApp Gets Multiple Phone Support!

Popular messaging app WhatsApp has announced that it will offer multi-device support for up to five different phones. So when will the new feature be available?

If we recall, in 2021, WhatsApp announced the multi-device feature that allows the same user account to be used on multiple devices. Now, this acclaimed feature of the platform gains new capabilities. In today’s announcement, WhatsApp announced that a single WhatsApp account can be used on five different phones.

WhatsApp gets multi-device support for phones

Reportedly, WhatsApp will offer support for up to five devices on phones, just as it does on WhatsApp Web, tablet, and desktop. Additionally, every connected phone will offer end-to-end encryption for messages, media and calls. In addition, WhatsApp states that if the preferred main device is “inactive for an extended period of time,” all auxiliary devices will be logged out.

It should be noted that the new functionality is among the expected features of WhatsApp. As a matter of fact, users will now be able to switch between multiple phones without logging out of WhatsApp. It will also be able to use more than one phone with one Whatsapp account. The new feature has started to be released gradually as of now. It will be available to the general public in the coming weeks.

In addition, the popular platform is also developing a new verification method for multiple devices. This feature, which is currently only visible in the WhatsApp Web version, will allow device connection via a one-time code instead of a QR code. The new login method is expected to be available on more platforms in the future.
