WhatsApp Channels Feature is Available: Details Shared!

WhatsApp, the instant messaging application preferred by millions of people, is preparing to make the Channels feature available to all users.

Popular instant messaging service WhatsApp’s Channels feature has been officially introduced and will be available very soon.

Meta announced that WhatsApp Channels will be available in more than 150 countries, including Turkey. The feature allows users to easily access the news they care about and opens the door to thousands of organizations, sports teams, artists, and thought leaders.

The WhatsApp Channels feature, which will be available across Turkey in the coming days, is already being used by media organizations such as Anadolu Agency, Turkuvaz Medya, Acun Medya and Gazete Duvar.

The feature, which allows users to follow the channels they want in a private and secure way, is located in a separate section from chats within the application. With WhatsApp Channels, Meta aims to create the most secure broadcasting service available.

What Features Does WhatsApp Channels Come With?

The Channels feature, which has been tested in many countries for a while, has become even deeper with the following features:

  • Advanced Search Index: Users will now be able to find and follow channels filtered by the country they are in. They will also be able to view new, most active and popular channels based on the number of followers.
  • Reactions: Users will be able to leave emoticons using emojis to give feedback and see the total number of emoticons. The emoticons left by users will not be visible to other followers.
  • Edit: Soon, admins will be able to make changes to reported updates for up to 30 days, after which posts will be automatically deleted from WhatsApp servers and admins will not be able to make changes to them.
  • Forwarding: When users forward an update from Channels to chats or groups, the forwarded message will include a link to the channel so people can learn more.

In the future, Meta plans to further refine and improve WhatsApp Channels based on user feedback. Each user will also be able to create their own channels in the coming months.
