What is the Turkish Foreign Student Admission Exam?

The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has declared the “Turkish Foreign Student Admission Examination” in order to determine the standards for student admission, especially from abroad countries, and to identify the right students. The exam, which will be held in six languages, Turkish, German, Arabic, French, English and Russian, will bring a new convenience to candidates from different countries in applying to higher education institutions in Turkey.

Foreign students who meet the criteria set in the Turkish Foreign Student Admission Exam will be able to participate. At the same time, it has been recommended that these exam results will be the criteria to be evaluated for undergraduate and graduate students in higher education institutions. The 2023 TR-YÖS, which students who want to study at higher education institutions in Turkey can enter and use when applying for admission to these institutions, will be held for the first time by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) on January 29, 2023. The said exam will be administered in 17 provinces in the country and in 23 countries abroad, in 41 exam centers in total. Applications for this exam can be made from ÖSYM application centers.

In the exam, candidates will be asked a total of 80 questions, 40 from the Numerical Ability Test and 40 from the Basic Mathematics Test. Push-up; It will be held in Turkish, German, English, French, Russian and Arabic. The validity period of TR-YÖS will be two years from the application of the exam. In addition, if universities accept this exam as an assessment and evaluation competency, students will not need to attend YÖS for the fields they apply for again.
