Tesla first announced the Cybertruck on November 21, 2019. The announcement garnered a lot of attention and sparked controversy about the vehicle’s unique design and features. Mass Production Expected to Start in Early October
At Tesla’s annual shareholders meeting, CEO Elon Musk initially envisioned an annual production target of 250,000 Cybertrucks, but recent reports show Tesla is asking suppliers to prepare for a baseline production rate of 375,000 units per year, showing the company’s increased ambition and confidence in the market. Demand for Cybertruck.
The company’s most important goal is to complete production of the first Cybertruck, also known as “pre-production vehicles” or “release candidates”, by the end of August. This important step represents the final stage before the start of full-scale production.
If all goes as planned, the Cybertruck is expected to begin mass production in early October and will mark an important milestone in Tesla’s journey to fulfill its highly anticipated orders.
Tesla’s approach to deliveries follows a familiar pattern. As with previous vehicle launches like the Model Y, Cybertruck’s first deliveries will be exclusive to Tesla employees and insiders. This approach not only creates excitement among the company’s dedicated workforce, but also provides an opportunity to improve the manufacturing process based on real-world feedback and provide a seamless customer experience when deliveries are made available to the public.
