“We stand by Syria and Turkey” Message Reflected on Nelson’s Column in London
Those who lost their lives due to two devastating earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6 in Kahramanmaraş were commemorated in London.
A commemoration event was held in Trafalgar, one of the most important squares of London, following the Kahramanmaras-centered earthquakes that affected 11 cities in Turkey.
Candles were lit for those who lost their lives in the earthquake at the event held at 19.00 local time in the square where the Syrian disaster relief tent was previously visited by King Charles III and Foreign Minister James Cleverly.
At the commemoration event, the message “We stand by Syria and Turkey” was reflected on the 52-meter Nelson Column in Trafalgar, one of London’s iconic squares.
At the end of the event, aid was also collected for earthquake victims.
