Volvo Unveils New Electric Truck To Be Sold In Turkey

The FM Low Entry, Volvo's first product developed on an innate electric vehicle platform, has been unveiled. The new truck will be used for garbage collection and product distribution.

Recently, many car manufacturers have started to launch electric models. This trend, which started in cars, has now spread to trucks.

Volvo Trucks continues to invest in electric vehicle technologies. All the electric trucks the company has produced so far have used platforms developed for internal combustion engine vehicles. However, this is changing with the new Volvo FM Low Entry model.

The Volvo FM Low Entry, the Swedish company’s first product built on an innate electric vehicle platform, will be available in selected markets such as Turkey, Europe and South Korea.

What The New Fm Low Entry Offers

The new FM Low Entry will be powered by four battery packs with a total capacity of 360 kWh.

The truck will be able to travel 200 km on a single charge. This shows that the vehicle is designed for urban use only.

The vehicle, which weighs between 19 and 32 tons depending on the version, is powered by a 483 hp (360 kW) electric motor.

With this new all-electric urban truck, Volvo now has a total of eight electric truck models in its range.

In 2019, Volvo Trucks became the first global manufacturer to start mass production of heavy electric trucks, and the company aims for 50 percent of global sales of new Volvo trucks to be electric by 2030.
