The first premium electric MPV model that Volvo will launch is now official. The model, which will bear the name Volvo EM90, is described by the brand as “The Scandinavian living room in motion”. The new EM90 will be officially unveiled on November 12 and will be available for pre-order in China on the same date.
More information about the new Volvo EM90 will be shared in the coming weeks. However, for now, we have to be content with this bird’s-eye view shared as the first clue. There is a small sunroof detail on the roof of the premium model for the driver and front passenger, but Volvo has not neglected to integrate a larger glass for the rear passengers. At the back of the new Volvo EM90 are T-shaped LED taillights and the Volvo lettering illuminated in the middle. The interior is not yet known, but we can see the comfortable captain’s seats in the second row through the panoramic sunroof on the top. In silhouette, Volvo’s first MPV looks tall enough to have three rows of seats. The new EM90 will most likely be based on the sister brand’s Zeekr 009 model. When we look at the details, it immediately draws attention that the details such as the sunroof on the ceiling, door handles, fin antenna and side mirrors are the same.
Technical details are not yet clear, but we can base Zeekr 009 on this issue. Chinese model; It has a length of 5209 mm, a width of 2024 mm, a height of 1867 mm and an impressive wheelbase of 3205 mm. Using Geely’s SEA platform, the 009 can be preferred with a seating capacity of four or six people. Powering a total of 534 hp from two electric motors, the electric MPV promises a driving range of up to 822 kilometers, according to CLTC measurements in China, thanks to its large 140 kWh battery.
