US YouTuber shot down a plane for interaction
A YouTuber who deliberately shot down a plane to increase the number of views confessed to his guilt. The YouTuber, the owner of the video that has reached 3 million views, can be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
29-year-old American Trevor Jacob installed cameras on his plane in November 2021, took off alone from California Airport.
Jacob, a YouTuber, took a parachute and selfie stick with him.
The plane crashed in the Los Padres National Forest 35 minutes after takeoff.
He said ‘accident’, 3 million views
Posting the video of the plane crash on YouTube in December 2021, Jacob argued that it was an accident.
The video he published received about 3 million views in 1.5 years.
Acting on the footage, the California Central District Attorney’s Office filed a lawsuit against Jacob.
He confessed to his crime, could serve 20 years
The YouTuber, who was questioned, admitted that he deliberately crashed the plane, filming the video as part of a product sponsorship deal.
Trevor Jacob, accused of obstructing a federal investigation, could face up to 20 years in prison.
Commenting on the incident, the California Central District Attorney’s Office said, “He did not intend to reach his destination, but instead planned to jump out of his plane during the flight and shoot video of the plane falling.” The explanation has arrived.
