Ufo Panic In Gaziantep Airspace! All Flights Canceled

An "unidentified object" caused panic in the airspace in Gaziantep. All flights were suspended at Gaziantep Airport. 26 flights were canceled and NOTAM was declared. Flights resumed after 12 hours

Flights taking off and landing at Gaziantep Airport have been grounded since midnight due to reports of an unidentified object in Gaziantep airspace. Some flights scheduled to land at Gaziantep Airport were diverted to Adana and Şanlıurfa Airports.

According to the incident that took place in Gaziantep around 00.30, an unidentified object was detected by the cockpit crew of two passenger planes at an altitude of approximately 9,000 feet (2,743 meters). The pilots reported the situation to Gaziantep Air Traffic Control Tower. It is learned that the unidentified object was also confirmed by air traffic controllers.

Flights were suspended at Gaziantep Airport following the incident. Some planes scheduled to land in Gaziantep were diverted to Şanlıurfa and Adana Airports. Since the night, 26 flights, including 13 take-offs and 13 landings, have been canceled at Gaziantep Airport.

According to the information received from the Gaziantep Airport State Airports Authority (DHMI) Chief Directorate, NOTAM was not published, while it was stated that an official statement will be made on the subject in the coming hours.

On the other hand, hundreds of passengers had to wait for hours at Gaziantep Airport due to canceled flights. Flights at Gaziantep Airport resumed after 12 hours following the evaluation of the suspicious object.
