Two Seasons In One City
In Mersin, where thermometers showed 19 degrees Celsius, some citizens went into the sea. Snow-fighting works are being carried out in the high parts of the city.
Mersin is experiencing two seasons at once.
With the increasing heat across the country, the temperature reached 19 degrees in Mersin. Those who want to enjoy the beautiful weather went to the beaches.
Some citizens took a walk on the beach and took in the sea air, while others left themselves in the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
Different weather conditions prevail in the higher parts of the city. Snow-fighting efforts are being carried out in the Taurus Mountains.
Teams are working hard to prevent the closure of village and plateau roads. Authorities especially warn drivers not to go to the plateaus with vehicles without chains.
Ayşe Alsan (60), who lives in Silifke district, said, “We have summer weather. We make use of this beautiful weather by swimming in the sea. 20 kilometers above us there is snow. We are experiencing two seasons together. I invite everyone to swim in the sea and enjoy this beautiful weather.”
