FOUND DEAD AT HOME
Model Nichole ‘Nikki’ Coats was not heard from after telling her family she was going on a date. On September 10, her body was found in a skyscraper apartment. Police said Coats’ death was unnatural and the death was suspicious.
2 DAYS LATER ANOTHER MODEL WAS FOUND DEAD
Just two days later, the body of 31-year-old model Maleesa Mooney was found in the same house after texting with her family. May Stevens, the aunt who found Coats’ body, said at a press conference that “there’s a predator out there,” but only Mooney’s death was officially recognized as a homicide.
GRIEVING FAMILY BARELY IDENTIFIES THEIR MUTILATED DAUGHTER
The victim’s mother Sharon Coats said, “I want some answers because my daughter is gone. And it’s not fair. I want everyone to know who did this to her. She shouldn’t have gone.” Stevens said she and other worried family members barely identified their daughter because her body was mutilated. The family said that when they discovered their daughter’s body, they could barely recognize it was hers.Coats’ mother said her daughter had no enemies and was loved by friends and the community.
