Two Former Football Players Arrested in Match Fixing Investigation
İnegölspor, one of the TFF 2nd League White Group teams, announced that 5 suspects, including two former goalkeepers who previously wore the team’s jersey, were arrested in the match-fixing investigation.
In the statement made by the İnegölspor Club, it was reminded that on 20 December 2022, goalkeepers Emre Selen and Sercan Çobanoğlu filed a criminal complaint with the İnegöl Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office alleging that they made match-fixing against İnegölspor.
Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the İnegöl Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, teams affiliated to the Bursa Police Department Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch detained 6 suspects, including two players.
“The statements of the above-mentioned suspects and 4 other suspects were taken and 5 people, including Emre Selen and Sercan Çobanoğlu, were referred to the İnegöl Criminal Court of Peace with a request for detention, and one suspect for judicial control. Çobanoğlu, K.Ş, S.S.S. and C.S. were arrested and sent to prison on the same day. Due to these vile actions, the city of İnegöl, İnegölspor Club and İnegölspor supporters have suffered a lot, our interests have been damaged. However, those who committed this treacherous act against our club should not be given the necessary treatment in front of justice at this stage. “As a result of the trial, we will make every effort and follow up with all our might to ensure that they receive the necessary punishments at the end of the trial. As we have said before, we present to the public that we will fight against those who betray the efforts of the İnegölspor community, our glorious fans and managers.”
