Elon Musk’s change of Twitter’s name and logo to X causes the social media platform to have access problems in many countries.

Elon Musk’s change of Twitter’s name to “X” caused the social media platform to face legal problems in Indonesia and many other countries.

The country’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology blocked access to Twitter’s new address, x.com, on the grounds that it was associated with “inappropriate content” that violated Indonesia’s pornography laws.

The ministry noted that x.com had previously hosted other illegal sites and was therefore included on the block list.

While there has been no official response from Twitter, the ministry claims to have reached out to Musk to resolve the issue.

Elon Musk’s “X” Decision Caused Great Financial Damage to the Company

Musk’s name change announcement came with plans for significant changes to the platform, including the introduction of online banking and payment systems. However, the decision to rebrand has had a significant negative impact on Twitter’s value, with analysts estimating a reduction of between $4 and $20 billion.

Steve Susi of brand strategy firm Siegel+Gale emphasised that Twitter has built significant global capital over more than 15 years and the loss of its brand is extremely significant, highlighting that the economic consequences of this name and logo change could be severe.
