Twitter Allows Marijuana Ads!
The popular social network Twitter has made a change in its advertising policy. It will now be possible to advertise cannabis on the platform, subject to certain restrictions.
Twitter, owned by Elon Musk, has changed its policy to allow US companies to advertise drugs like marijuana on the platform. The regulation in question was featured on Twitter’s ad content policies page.
The policy for Twitter’s paid advertising products allows targeted cannabis advertising in the US and Canada, subject to certain restrictions. Of course, it should be noted that conditions such as license and pre-authorization are sought for these.
Strict Control Will Be Applied
The advertisements in question shall not be made in a way that encourages children and young people under the age of 18. It will also not be able to make health claims or show any depictions of cannabis use. It will not evoke images of attraction, pleasure, excitement, vitality, risk or courage.
Despite this change in Twitter policy, some cannabis companies will not be able to take advantage of this facility due to state laws restricting online cannabis advertisements.
