In his speech at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Minister Karaismailoğlu announced that Türksat6A, Turkey’s domestic communication satellite, will be launched into space in 2023. Stating that Türksat6A is one of the largest R&D projects in Turkey, the Minister said that the construction processes of all Türksat 6A are currently underway in Ankara.

The Turksat6A project, which is stated to have been developed entirely with domestic and national resources, was initiated under the leadership of TÜBİTAK in 2014 and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, TUSAŞ, ASELSAN, CTECH and TURKSAT A.Ş participated in the process. . Within the scope of the project, TAI will be responsible for the structural, thermal and chemical propulsion subsystems and mechanical ground support equipment of the satellite.

When the construction and integrated systems of Turksat6A are completed, it will be launched into space with SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket in 2023. It is reported that the satellite weighs 4,300 kg, carries 20 Ku-Band transponders and has a service life of 15 years. .
