Turkey National Women’s Volleyball Team is European champion!
The National Women’s Volleyball Team defeated Serbia 3-2 in the final of the 2023 CEV European Championship and became the champion. Melissa Vargas was named the most valuable player of the organization.
The National Women’s Volleyball Team, champions of the League of Nations, faced Serbia in the final of the 2023 CEV European Championship.
In the final played at Paleis 12 Hall in Brussels, Belgium, the National Women’s Volleyball Team defeated its opponent 3-2 with sets of 25-27, 25-21, 22-25, 25-22 and 15-13 and became the champion for the first time in the history of the organization.
With this victory, the Sultans of Filenin also took the rematch of 2019 from their rival.
Having lost 4 years ago to Serbia in the final, this time the national team won the trophy.
After the last point of the match, head coach Daniele Santarelli and the national volleyball players experienced great joy.
Mehmet Akif Üstündağ, President of the Turkish Volleyball Federation, presented the gold medals to the national team at the ceremony organized after the match. After the medals were awarded, the National Anthem was sung at Paleis 12 Hall.
After captain Eda Erdem Dündar lifted the trophy, the national players, who experienced great joy in the hall, celebrated the championship by playing.
The national players also took photos with the Turkish spectators celebrating the championship.
MELİSSA VARGAS NAMED “MOST VALUABLE PLAYER”
Melissa Vargas, who scored 41 points in the final game, was voted as the most valuable player of the European Championship.
Vargas was named the most valuable player once again after the League of Nations organization.
