Trial Production of Domestic Car TOGG Begins!

Turkey’s domestic car TOGG has come to an end. TOGG Top Manager Mehmet Gurcan Karakas answered TRT Haber‘s questions from the point reached during the production phase to the price issue.
It went through many stages. Each piece has been tested dozens of times. There are only a few days left for the trial production of the domestic car TOGG.

Pointing out that trial production will start soon, Mehmet Gurcan Karakas said:

“Our trial production starts at the end of July at the beginning of August. This means that we learn how to produce our vehicles in quotation marks since we will be producing with our lines for the first time. We are ready for mass production at the end of October, at the beginning of November. But this does not mean that we will make mass production and go to the market or traffic. Because by purchasing the vehicles we produce there, we will complete the necessary tests at the certification centers in Europe, and sometimes it takes 3 months, sometimes 5 months, to complete those tests.”

“We will position ourselves when the time comes”

Stating that the market will determine the price, Karakas said, “When the time comes, we will position ourselves in the market. Our statement and claim is that we know from whom we will get market share. We know in which segment we will position our vehicle in the market and we say that we will be competitive among them.”

Mehmet Gurcan Karakas also gave information about the battery factory planned to be built next to the TOGG facility:

“From the moment we start mass production, we will be producing our own battery. The other one is just about increasing the capacity and from there it will be an investment in the management of the cell.”

In the last quarter of the year, the factory is expected to be ready for mass production. The Togg is slated to hit traffic in march next year.
