Azerbaijan has banned the video-based social media platform TikTok, citing state security. Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry announced the launch of an anti-terrorist operation to restore the constitutional structure in Karabakh.

TikTok has been suspended in Azerbaijan for state security reasons.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry announced that an anti-terrorist operation was launched in Karabakh to restore the constitutional structure.

“Civilians and infrastructure facilities are not targeted, only legitimate military targets are destroyed,” the ministry said in a statement.

BAND NARROWING APPLIED

Following these developments, Azerbaijan imposed a band restriction on TikTok to prevent the sharing of images.
