THY Warns Passengers From 5 Countries: Different Requirements

Turkish Airlines (THY) announced that passengers traveling to Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba and Brazil will not be allowed to enter the countries if they do not comply with the additional control conditions set by the country authorities, even if they comply with the general conditions.

In recent days, it was on the agenda that Turkish passengers were not accepted to many countries, especially Mexico. Regarding the issue, THY announced that some additional controls are being applied for passenger acceptance on flights to Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, Brazil, in addition to passport and visa requirements.

Since passengers will be denied entry to the country as a result of the additional controls, the airline announced that similar controls will be carried out during boarding.

The airline also announced that if any of the entry requirements are not met, passengers may experience problems at the relevant boarding point.

Official invitation letter for Venezuela

Turkish Airlines made an announcement on its website regarding the country-by-country entry requirements. “For flights arriving to Venezuela Caracas Simon Bolivar Airport, our passengers may use Caracas Simon Bolivar Airport as a transit point or for entry into Venezuela. There is no transit application at Caracas Simon Bolivar Airport without entering the country. The general requirements for entry into the country are Visa (suitable for the purpose of travel), Hotel reservation (paid for and covering the travel period, return ticket and notarized official invitation letter are required`.

Mexico does not accept passengers without luggage

In line with the decision taken by foreign authorities, Mexico requires a Mexican Electronic Approval Certificate (provided that the same document is not used again), hotel reservation (paid and covering the travel process), return ticket for entry into the country. In addition, requests to enter the country will not be accepted for passengers with long-term accommodation and no luggage, passengers traveling abroad for the first time, passengers who do not have documents suitable for the declared purpose of travel.

Colombia wants some conditions

For passengers wishing to travel to Colombia via Turkey, entry requirements include a hotel reservation, a return ticket with the same PNR for the outbound and return journeys (provided that the ticket date is within the visa requirement period for visa-requiring countries), and in case of a transit flight, the transit time must be less than 24 hours. Passengers who have been refused entry to the country before, who have a long stay and do not have baggage, and who do not have documents suitable for the declared purpose of travel will not be allowed to enter the country.

Regarding Panama, passengers traveling to Panama with Turkish Airlines flights must have a valid visa (for visa-requiring countries), a return ticket for round-trip flights, a hotel reservation and a transit time not exceeding 12 hours for transit flights. In addition, passengers who have a long stay and do not have baggage, who do not have documents suitable for the declared purpose of travel and who cannot give appropriate answers in the customs police interview upon arrival in Panama will not be admitted to the country.

First-time travelers will not be able to enter Cuba

According to the information, passengers traveling to Cuba must have a return ticket and hotel reservation for round-trip and transit journeys. In addition, passengers wishing to travel to Cuba will not be allowed to enter Cuba if they have a long-term stay, do not have luggage, do not have documents suitable for the declared purpose of travel, are traveling abroad for the first time and do not have sufficient cash or valid cards for the duration of their stay.

Passengers traveling to Brazil will be required to have a round-trip ticket and a return ticket for transit passengers, a hotel reservation, and a transit flight transit time not exceeding 24 hours.

In addition, passengers who have a long stay in the country, who do not have luggage, who do not have documents suitable for the declared purpose of travel, who are traveling abroad for the first time and who do not have sufficient cash or valid credit cards for the duration of their stay will not be allowed to enter the country.
