Threads Withdraws from Turkey: Access Termination Date Announced!
The Thread app will be completely shut down in Turkey starting this month. But why? Here are the details!
The Threads application, which was launched as a subsidiary of Instagram, attracted a lot of attention from users when it was first released. Suddenly, a surprising information was shared about the application that supports text, photo and video sharing.
Launched in 2023, Threads was launched because Mark Zuckerberg wanted to rival Elon Musk. Threads allows users to share up to 500 characters with each other. This is twice as many characters as the X platform.
Threads will no longer be available in Turkey
Threads was launched as an alternative to the X app and users compared the two platforms a lot. According to the latest information, Threads is withdrawing from Turkey.
When users enter the Threads application, they encounter the following warning:
“Due to the decision of the Competition Authority, Threads will not be available in Turkey. Your profile will be disabled, but you can download your information and delete your profile at any time. We value the Threads community in Turkey and hope to be back soon.
This decision will enter into force on April 29, 2024.
