Threads said goodbye to Turkey: No More Access!
As of today, the Thread app is no longer available in Turkey. But why? Here are the details!
The Threads application, which was launched as a subsidiary of Instagram, attracted a lot of attention from users when it was first released. Suddenly, a surprising information was shared about the application that supports text, photo and video sharing.
Launched in 2023, Threads was launched because Mark Zuckerberg wanted to rival Elon Musk. Threads allows users to share up to 500 characters with each other. This is twice as many characters as the X platform.
Threads has been shut down in Turkey!
Threads was launched as an alternative to the X app and users were comparing the two platforms a lot. The day announced in the past weeks has come. As of today, users in Turkey will no longer be able to use the app.
When users enter the Threads application, they encounter the following warning:
“Due to the Competition Authority’s decision, Threads will no longer be available in Turkey. Your profile will be disabled, but you can download your information and delete your profile at any time. We value the Threads community in Turkey and hope to be back soon.
There is no clear information yet on how long the decision will be valid. As seen from the warning in the application, there is a possibility of returning. However, as of now, access has officially ended.
