The number of pets that have been chipped since the beginning of the year has reached 1 million 584 thousand 711. Of the animals, 946 thousand 296 were cats and 638 thousand 387 dogs.
In accordance with the Animal Protection Law No. 5199 and the Regulation on Chiping and Registration of Cats, Dogs and Ferrets, pet owners are required to identify their animals and register them in the PetVet Registration System (PETVET) until 31 December 2022 at the latest. .
If pet owners apply, the microchip application and registration process should be followed in order to overcome the difficulties that may be encountered due to the shortening of the microchip application and registration process, the density or the difficulties that may be encountered due to different reasons. It is notified to the provincial/district directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry with a “declaration” until 31 December. This process was allowed to be completed without any penal action.
