The Biggest Mystery Of Saturn’s Rings Solved
Apple has signed an agreement with Globalstar for the emergency satellite connectivity offered in the iPhone 14 series and is bringing the feature to two more countries.
Apple’s satellite communication technology, which Apple has been developing behind closed doors for a long time, appeared in the iPhone 14 models.
Satellite connectivity allows uninterrupted communication without cellular connectivity, using communication satellites orbiting the Earth in places where there is no cellular reception.
The satellite feature used in iPhone 14 models is supported by Globalstar, a US-based satellite communications company.
Coming To More Countries
Apple’s Emergency SOS satellite feature for iPhone 14 series phones is now available in Australia and New Zealand.
The feature was first launched in the US and Canada last year, followed by France, Germany, Ireland and the UK.
Apple, which has signed an agreement with Globalstar for the emergency satellite connection offered in the iPhone 14 series, also wants to use Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites.
If the talks go well, iPhones could also benefit from Starlink satellites in the future.
