Didim, formerly known as Yenihisar, is a touristic district of Aydın. It is in the form of a peninsula bordered by Muğla provincial border in the east, Güllük Bay and Akbük Bay, the Aegean Sea in the west and south, Bafa Lake and the Menderes River in the north. Its area is 402 km². According to the census results of 2020, there are 16 neighborhoods in the district where 90,427 people live.

Thanks to the centers that provide diving training, you can dive with or without scuba. There are diving training centers in many different parts of Didim such as Mavişehir and Akbük, especially Altınkum.

You can see many peddlers selling the famous figs of the region on Atatürk Boulevard, which connects Altinkum and Didim center. Also, there are regular public bus and minibus services from Aydın center, Kuşadası and Söke to Didim. Intercity buses departing from Izmir serve on the Söke-Didim route.
