Take-Two CEO Signals Bad News: What Will GTA 6 Cost?
As the release of GTA 6 is approaching, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick made striking statements about the pricing of the game. Here are the details!
Take-Two was among the first major companies to raise the price of many popular major games from $60 to $70. After the announcement that GTA 6 will be released in 2025, many gamers began to wonder if Take-Two could charge more than $70 for the standard edition of the new GTA game.
CEO Strauss Zelnick was recently asked about his views on pricing policies for the GTA series and shared his general thoughts on pricing with Take-Two’s products in mind.
How Much Will GTA 6 and Other Games Cost?
“We’re so focused on delivering more value than we charge that whenever we set a price, we want to make sure that it’s something that’s good for the consumer and that we’re over-delivering on our experience,” Zelnick said, noting that they’re constantly delivering more content and aiming to deliver great value soon.
While many are wondering how the pricing policies will affect GTA 6, Take-Two did not provide any information on GTA+’s bottom line, but said that GTA Online has become a major source of revenue over the years.
In addition, Take-Two recently raised the prices of the GTA series, although it has not yet shared any information about the price of GTA VI. The price of a GTA+ subscription went up 33%, from $6 to $8 a month.
The price hikes came with the addition of LA Noire to the service. Many games such as Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption, GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition are on the hike list.
Considering the expected changes in pricing policies, it is worth remembering that former PlayStation executive Shawn Layden has already predicted that the AAA market is not efficient and that the price of big games will increase from $60 to $70.
