Spike NLOS step from Greece: Will Buy Missile Systems from Israel

In the negotiations held on the Athens-Tel Aviv line, the result was reached in line with the supply.

Greek media wrote last year that the Athens administration was trying to buy Spike NLOS missile systems from Israel.

It was stated that the agreement for the supply of the systems could not be completed in 2022, and a decision will be made in 2023.

They Will Receive Missile Systems From Israel

Taking a step in this direction, the Greek government decided to procure the said missile systems from Israel.

The statement was made after the regular meeting of the National Security Council, chaired by Prime Minister Kiryakos Mitsotakis.

Spike NLOS Procurement Approved

The statement included statements about the purchase:

At the meeting, the purchase of Spike NLOS for the needs of the Armed Forces was approved and information was given about the course of other armament programs.

Greek Press: Serious Talks With Israel

It was also stated that the issues of migration and combating forest fires were discussed at the meeting.

According to the Greek media, serious negotiations were held between Greece and Israel for the purchase of Israeli-made Spike NLOS type missile systems.

It was claimed that the Greek side wanted to conclude the agreement in the first months of 2023, otherwise the agreement might not be realized.

Guided Anti-Tank Missile System

Spike NLOS is known as the guided anti-tank missile system produced by Israel.

The system, which is stated to have an effective range of 25 kilometers, is produced by a company called Rafael.
