It looks like Sony is developing new headphones for the PS5 console. One of the products targeting high-end audio performance will be in-ear headphones and will target Apple AirPods.
It looks like Sony is working on true wireless (TWS) gaming headphones made for gamers. One of the ears, which is said to be developed for the PlayStation 5 console, will be on the head and the other will be in the form of in-ears and will aim for high-end performance.
New Headphones Coming for PlayStation 5
The wireless in-ear headphones, called Project Nomad and targeting Apple AirPods, will offer a lifespan of about 5 hours. Although it is quite similar to AirPods in this structure, it will be slightly shorter than the Sony WF-1000XM3. Project Nomad, whose charging connection is USB-C type, will offer a premium sound experience.
In addition, a new over-the-head wireless headset called Voyager is also being developed for PlayStation 5 and it is stated that it will be released in a similar time frame as Nomad. Information about the mentioned Voyager is extremely limited, but it could be a new Inzone model or a brand new series.
It is unclear for now when Sony will release these wireless headphones or what their prices will be. However, sources say they will be launched towards the end of fiscal 2023. Let’s also mention that the fiscal year for Sony ends in March 2024.
