Samsung, which has appeared in the market with its foldable phones, is now preparing to release a foldable tablet.
Tae Moon Roh, head of Samsung Mobile, confirmed in an interview with the Independent newspaper that the company is developing tablets and laptops with foldable screens for launch. The experienced manager thus confirmed firsthand that the company has a plan in this direction.
Tae Moon Roh said in a statement on the subject, “What is applied to the smartphone will later spread to tablets and laptops. For this purpose, we allocate a lot of resources to this work as Samsung.”
Samsung Mobile’s boss said they have “core technology” ready for foldable tablets and laptops and will launch such devices “when they are ready to deliver meaningful innovations to consumers.”
Must meet several important criteria
According to Tae Moon Roh, the company’s foldable tablet should be “thin and light” so it can be easily carried around. It also needs to be “sturdy and durable” so that it can be used without worry. If you remember, the company showcased a concept device called the Samsung Flex Hybrid at CES 2023.
As of 2023, there are only foldable smartphones in Samsung’s product range. These devices are offered under the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series. Let us remind you that the newest models in the series in question are the recently introduced Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5.
