Three cosmonauts are stranded on Russia’s space station due to pressure. Russia announced that the planned return of the cosmonauts has been postponed to September.
The Russian space agency Roscosmos said three cosmonauts who were stranded last year due to a pressure leak in their return capsule could return in September with the Soyuz MS-23 backup capsule.
According to the TASS news agency, Roscosmos said, “Originally, Sergey Prokopyev, Dmitry Petelin and Francisco Rubio were to land on Soyuz MS-22 on March 28, 2023. This is now scheduled to happen on Soyuz MS-23 in September 2023.” .
Both NASA and Roscosmos believe the leak was caused by a micrometeoroid, a tiny particle of space rock that crashed into the capsule at high speed.
