Rahmi Koc Museum
Istanbul Rahmi M. Koc Museum, a non-profit and part of the Rahmi M. Foundation, is a museum dedicated to the history of transportation, industry and communication. The museum, which consists of three main sections, namely the Open Air Exhibition Area, the Historical Haskoy Shipyard and the Mustafa V. Koc Building, one of the leading examples of industrial archeology, covers an area of 27,000 square meters in Haskoy on the shore of the Golden Horn.
This is a very unique and fantastic museum where you will find yourself in a time machine where you will witness the development of transportation, industry and communication. Thousands of real-size objects such as submarines, ferries, ships, planes, locomotives and tram models are exhibited in the museum. While visiting the museum, you can take a break in the museum’s cafes and restaurants. Istanbul Rahmi Koc Museum is open to visitors every day except Monday, between 09:30 a.m. and 05:00 p.m. (October 1-March 31) and 09:30 – 19:00 (April 1 – September 30). The museum is closed on Mondays, the eve and first day of the Religious Holidays, and on December 31st and January 1st every year.
Rahmi Koc Museum is located in Istanbul’s Beyoglu district, Haskoy district, on the shore of the Golden Horn.
For those coming from the Anatolian side, After passing from Kadikoy to Eminonu by the Kadikoy-Eminonu ferry, you can reach the Rahmi Koc Museum when you get off at Kirmizi Minare stop by taking any of the buses 47, 47E, 47N, 47Ç from the bus stops of the famous fishermen.
From Umraniye, take the Uskudar-Umraniye metro and get off at the Altunizade stop and transfer to the metrobus. When you get off at Halicioglu stop by metrobus and turn left from the underpass, you can reach the Rahmi Koc Museum with a 5-minute walk by following the downward road.
If you are coming from Buyukcekmece, Beylikduzu, Avcilar, Kucukcekmece, Bahcelievler, you can reach the Rahmi Koc Museum with a 5-minute walk when you get off at Halicioglu stop from any Metrobus station, then continue from the bottom pass and follow the road down.
If you are coming from Bagcilar or Gungoren, take the Kabatas-Bagcilar tram line to get off at Zeytinburnu station and transfer to Metrobus. After getting off at Halicioglu stop by metrobus, you can reach the Rahmi Koc Museum with a 5-minute walk when you follow the road that descends from the underpass from the left side.
