Demonstrations in Iran, which started after 22-year-old Mahsa Emini died after being detained, continue. In some videos published on social media, the images of the demonstrators dropping the headscarves of the mullahs came to the fore, while the videos showing the burning of the madrasahs that raised mullahs came to the fore.
The death of 22-year-old Mahsa Emini on September 16, who was taken to hospital after being taken into custody by the Irshad patrols, known as the “morality police” in Tehran, on September 13, caused great indignation in the country.

The demonstrations that started after Emini’s funeral in her hometown Sakkız on September 17 spread to many cities of the country.

While no clear information was shared from the official authorities regarding the loss of life in the demonstrations, the Norwegian-based Iranian Human Rights Institution (IHR) announced the number of those who lost their lives as a result of the intervention of the security forces. The demonstrations that started after Emini’s death increased to 253.
