One of the world’s most poisonous spiders spotted in Malatya
In Kale district of Malatya, a species of “argiope lobata”, which is said to be one of the most poisonous spiders in the world, was encountered.
Upon reporting the situation, Mesut Cem Karaca, the District Director of Agriculture and Forestry, and veterinary teams went to Salkımlı Neighborhood and examined the “argiope lobata” species, one of the most poisonous spiders in the world.
Karaca said that the argiope lobata spider, which attracts attention with its different patterns, can cause loss of life by killing the nerve cells in the human body with the strong poison it carries.
Stating that the spider does not attack people easily, Karaca noted that the venom in the insect is used in “neurodegenerative” disease and that the spider, which is known to have two species in Turkey and has a habitat in Africa, Asia and Southern Europe worldwide, is a rare species.
