Number of Social Media Users in Turkey Announced: Average Duration of Use Also Revealed

The number of users of popular social media platforms in Turkey has been announced. So how much is the average usage time of the platforms? Here are the details!

As digitalization has gained momentum in recent years, social media platforms have started to attract more and more attention. Millions of people from all over the world, including Turkey, actively use social media. So, what is the number of social media users in Turkey?

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made a presentation to the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s Digital Media Commission, in which he revealed the number of active users in Turkey, as well as the average usage time of the platforms.

What is the Number of Social Media Users in Turkey?

According to the data shared by Minister Uraloğlu, digitalization and internet usage are constantly increasing in our country. Although it varies preferably in Turkey, he announced that 78% of the country actively uses social media.

He also stated that at least one of the social media applications such as X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube is definitely being used. According to this data, he states that close to 58 million people in Turkey actively use social media.

Apart from this, the Minister explained that the daily social media usage time, which is 6.5 hours in the world, is approximately 7 hours in our country, and continues as follows:

“They all started their companies. X is the last one to do so. I can say that we are currently enforcing what we want within the framework of our legal legislation. LinkedIn, Dailymotion, Pinterest and VKontakte, which are among the representatives of foreign social network providers with more than 1 million daily access, have also established their companies and appointed their representatives. They are currently at the point of fulfilling the requirements in Turkey.”
