Qualcomm designed the Snapdragon G1 Gen 1 platform for less demanding games on devices with lower specs. This platform seems to be ideal for remote console and PC gaming on dedicated fanless portables as well as cloud gaming. The chip supports up to 1080p 60 FPS and uses WiFi 5.

Finally, the chipmaker launched the Snapdragon G2 Gen 1 platform to serve as a middle ground between the two lines. While this platform is designed to be used in fanless gaming devices, it aims a little better in games in terms of performance. This chip can power portable devices used for cloud and remote console games, as well as devices used to play Android and PC games via WiFi 6/6E and 5G mmWave.

Qualcomm hopes to launch the new series quickly. Reference designs have already started to be submitted to some manufacturers for the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2. According to the statement, AyaNeo, Huaqin, Inventec, Thundercomm and other companies are collaborating with Qualcomm for portable gaming devices powered by Snapdragon G series.
