Last Sunday, windy weather prevailed in the western part of Turkey. Thanks to the ideal level of wind intensity for turbines, a daily record was broken in electricity generation from wind.

According to the data of Turkish Electricity Transmission AŞ (TEİAŞ), the highest daily level of all time was reached in electricity generation on 11 December 2022. Previously, 204,375 megawatt-hours of electricity was produced on November 21, 2022. On December 11, the daily record was broken with 207,906 megawatt-hours.

On December 11, a total of 747 thousand 911 megawatt-hours of electricity was produced from all energy sources. Wind power plants accounted for 27.8% of this. It was followed by imported coal with 21.4 percent and lignite power plants with 17.3 percent. On a daily basis, 19,190 megawatt-hours of electricity were imported and 7,652 megawatt-hours of electricity was exported.
