New metro line for Istanbul

A new metro line is coming to Istanbul. After 7 years of construction, Ataköy-İkitelli metro line will open in 7 months. With the opening of the line, it will take 21 and a half minutes between Ataköy-İkitelli.

Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor (IBB) Ekrem İmamoğlu gave a date for the opening of Ataköy-İkitelli metro line.

Announcing that the construction of the 13 km line has come to an end, Imamoğlu made inspections on the construction line.

Imamoğlu stated that they have reached 90 percent in the construction phase, while stating that they have opened 2 stops of the metro line before and said, “Now we will have the honor of opening the whole line in March 2024.”

WILL PASS THROUGH 5 PROVINCES

The line extending from Bakırköy to Başakşehir and passing through 5 districts consists of 12 stations.

The line, which will reduce the Ataköy-İkitelli interval to 21.5 minutes, will carry 35 thousand passengers per hour in one direction. The line, the construction of which started in 2016, will also be connected to Marmaray and other metro lines.
