New Danger for Children: Families Should Pay Attention to This App!

It has come to the agenda that the application, which is mostly used by children, poses a new threat. Families should be careful against this application. Here are the details!

Nowadays, the age of social media use has fallen considerably, and it has become quite dangerous, especially for young children. An application that has been on the rise recently and is frequently heard of has come to the agenda with a shocking news.

It was revealed that adults also registered to the application called Simsimi, which is mostly used by children, with profiles that make them look like children. Clinical Psychologist Yasemin Meriç Kazdal also made statements drawing attention to how big a threat this situation poses.

Simsimi App Becomes Risky for Children

Parents often give their children phones to “keep them occupied”, leading young children to create their own profiles on social media. However, young children who have their own phones may have difficulty recognizing such threats against them.

Experts say that parents should be more vigilant in this regard and monitor their children for any changes in their psychology. Because children can be exposed to abuse through these apps.

Clinical Psychologist Yasemin Meriç Kazdal made the following statements on the subject:

“Our children can use this platform by showing their age as young even though they are underage, and even worse, adults, especially adults with deviant thoughts, can use this program by showing themselves as children even though they are older. If there is sexually explicit correspondence, if there are some requests, these people are likely to be pedophiles.”
