National Wrestler Tuba Demir Becomes European Champion

Women’s national athletes won 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal at the Under-17 European Wrestling Championship held in Romania. Tuba Demir became the European champion.

Tuba Demir, who competed in the finals of 57 kg in the championship that continued in Bucharest, became the European champion by beating Hungarian Gerda Terek 11-0.

One of the national wrestlers, Duygu Gen, who climbed to the mat in 65 kg, lost to Polish Nicola Wasilewska in the final and won the silver medal.

Sevval Cayir competing in 49 kg won the bronze medal by defeating her Romanian rival Ana Maria Gianina Rotaru in the match for the third place.

On the other hand, Sevim Akbas at 53 kilos, İlayda Cin at 61 kilos and Ayse Erkan at 69 kilos also qualified for the final by beating their opponents.

Finals will be played today.
