According to the information received from eyewitnesses, the Israeli police took intense security measures around the Old City area in East Jerusalem. The Israeli police, who set up iron barriers at different points, did not allow young people to enter the Masjid al-Aqsa. The police prevented many Palestinian youth from approaching the gates of Masjid al-Aqsa, by intervening with batons, especially in the Al-Esbat (Lion) Gate area of Masjid al-Aqsa.
