Mesut Özil, who played for Fenerbahçe and Başakşehir in our country as well as the world giants Real Madrid and Arsenal, ended his career after suffering severe injuries. Ozil, 34, announced his decision on social media.

Mesut Özil shared on his social media account, “I am announcing that I quit football after long thoughts. It was a privilege to be a professional football player for 17 years. I feel grateful for this opportunity. However, I have suffered long-term injuries in the past weeks and months. I felt it was time to quit football.
