EKREM İMAMOĞLU IS THE WINNER OF THE ELECTION IN ISTANBUL

The mayor of Istanbul, where all of Turkey was locked in the local elections, has been announced. According to the unofficial results, Ekrem İmamoğlu became the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. In Istanbul, where 8 million 964 thousand 977 voters voted in 33 thousand 273 ballot boxes, the participation rate was 79.3 percent. CHP candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who received 51.09 percent of the votes, became the Mayor of Istanbul. On the other hand, AK Parti candidate Murat Kurum’s vote rate was 39.59 percent.

IZMIR METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY ENTRUSTED TO CHP AGAIN

After Istanbul and Ankara, Izmir is one of the most curious cities. In Izmir, where CHP candidates have been the mayor since 2004, the tradition was not broken 20 years later and Cemil Tugay became the mayor. 2 million 726 thousand 313 voters voted in 10 thousand 697 ballot boxes in Izmir and the turnout rate was 79 percent. CHP candidate Cemil Tugay, who received 48.90 percent of the votes, became İzmir Metropolitan Mayor. AK Parti candidate Hamza Dağ received 37.07 percent of the votes.
