Lionel Messi’s New Team is US Team Inter Miami
Argentine Lionel Messi, who left French team Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), announced that he will continue his career at Inter Miami, one of the US Soccer League (MLS) teams.
Speaking to the Spanish press, the 35-year-old star footballer said: “I will be attending Inter Miami. I really wanted to return to Barcelona, it was a dream. But after what happened two years ago, I didn’t want to leave my future in someone else’s hands and end up in the same situation. I wanted to make my decision thinking about myself and my family.”
Messi said that he had heard reports that La Liga had given the green light to his transfer to Barcelona, “Still, too many things were missing. I didn’t want to be responsible for them selling players or reducing salaries, I was tired.”
Arguing that financial concerns were not influential in his decision, Messi said, “It was never about money. If it was, I would have gone to Saudi Arabia or somewhere else.”
Inter Miami team also announced Messi’s transfer with a video post on its social media account.
