The Lens Clouds, which were seen in Bursa in the past days and aroused great curiosity, were also seen in the skies of Nigde.

The Lens Clouds, which were seen in Bursa last January and attracted great attention by the public, were also seen in Nigde today. While the citizens looking at the sky in Altunhisar district were astonished, many citizens photographed the scenery they saw.

Lens clouds were also seen clearly from many counties in the city.

Lens clouds form at the crests of the wave-shaped air stream where the temperature is lowest. The shape of the lens cloud can be compared to a flying saucer. The lens cloud, whose Latin name is Altocumulus lenticularis, occurs at altitudes between 2,000 meters and 5,000 meters.

There is no scientific data that lens clouds are associated with earthquakes. These clouds have the potential to form in all regions where foehn winds are seen. In other words, there is no scientific evidence about its relationship with the earthquake.
