According to the news in AA, according to the statement made by the Turkish Red Crescent (Türk Kızılayı), the Red Crescent Board of Directors convened extraordinarily at the request of Kerem Kınık.
After Kerem Kınık’s resignation, the Board unanimously decided to go to the extraordinary general assembly.
Following the resignation of Kınık, who has been serving as the President of the Turkish Red Crescent since 2016, the First Deputy Chairperson Fatma Meriç Yılmaz will act as the Chairman of the Board of Directors until the extraordinary congress as per the statute.

After his resignation, Kerem Kınık started using the term “Red Crescent volunteer” instead of the title “Turkish Red Crescent President” on his social media account.
