Esenyurt is located in the European side of İstanbul city. Esenyurt became a district in 1989. Küçükçekmece Lake is located in the east of this region, Büyükçekmece in the west, Hoşdere village and TEM Highway in the north, Firizköy and E-5 Highway in the south. 13 health centers and 1 state hospitals in the district. There is a city park of 1000000 m². Security in the district was transferred to the police force as of June 1, 2009. Police headquarters building has been prepared.
