Is the Video of Ukrainians Throwing Molotov at Russian Tanks Real and Updated?

While the Russia-Ukraine conflict continues, many photos and videos continue to come from the region. In the post, it was claimed that Russian tanks were thrown Molotov by Ukrainians in the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022. Although the 10-second video is quite complex, it can be seen that there are Ukrainian flags and people throwing Molotov cocktails at a tank.
When the claim is searched on the internet with the reverse image search method, it is possible to encounter many videos. If you pay attention to the details, the long version of the video can be found on Youtube. In the video, protesters with shields, the Ukrainian flag and two armored vehicles can be seen next to the tank where Molotov cocktails were thrown. Details like these strengthen the possibility that the video is from a protest, not a conflict.

The video was shared with the title “На Майдане сожгли сразу два БТРа” on Youtube in 2014. Translated, it means “two armored personnel carriers were burned simultaneously on the Maidan.” With this detail, it is understood that the video was shot during the Euromaidan protests that started in Ukraine in 2013 and intensified in 2014. So it seems that the video is out of date.

The Euromaidan movement started in 2013 when Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych suspended the European Union (EU) Association Agreement.

The suspension of the Association Agreement drew the reaction of the supporters of the European Union in the country, and protests began in Kyiv’s Independence Square. As the protests escalated in 2014, Viktor Yanukovych was forced to flee the country.

The claim is WRONG

In the post made by a Twitter user on February 26, 2022, it was claimed that the video showed Ukrainians attacking Russian tanks with Molotov. When the claim is searched on the internet with reverse image search method, it is seen that the video is from the Euromaiden protest in Ukraine in 2014.
