Following the series “Kara Sevda” in 2017 and “Şahsiyet” in 2019, the series “Yargı” has now won the Emmy award. Thus, the success of Turkish TV series in the international arena was recognized for the third time.
At the 51st International Emmy Awards organized this year, Ay Yapım’s “Yargı” won the award for Best Telenovela.
“Yargı”, which was featured at the Emmys under the title “Family Secrets”, won the award for Best Telenovela ahead of the strong productions “Cara e Coragem” and “Pantanal” from Brazil and “Para Semper” from Portugal.
“Yargı” was the third Turkish series to win the award after “Kara Sevda” and “Şahsiyet”.
At the ceremony held at the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel, hosted by actor and comedian Rhys Darby, 56 productions from 20 countries were represented in 14 categories.
Buffy Saint-Marie documentary from Canada won the International Emmy Award for “Arts Programming”.
Martin Freeman, the star of the British crime drama “The Responder”, won for Best Actor, while Karla Souza, the star of the Mexican drama “La Caida”, won for Best Actress.
German mini-series “The Empress”, India’s “Vir Das: Landing” from India and “Derry Girls” from the UK.
