Huawei Phones Get 5G Support
While the Huawei Mate 60 series is waiting to be introduced towards the end of the year, sources report an important development. Huawei may gain access to Western 5G technologies years later.
Huawe, whose access to 5G technologies was restricted due to US embargoes, had to use 4G modems on its new smartphones. Towards the end of the year, there may be some stretches in favor of Huawei in the embargoes.
5G doping to Huawei Mate 60 series
Due to the embargo, the company could only access Qualcomm’s 4G-supported chipsets. However, it became possible to use 5G with a special third-party case in the Huawei P50 and P60 series.
Sources claim that the Huawei Mate 60 series will arrive in October with 5G support. In such a case, the Huawei Mate 60 series could be a relatively successful global success. However, information on how to provide 5G access is not provided.
Huawei is still the leader in 5G equipment, but has not yet developed a 5G modem that it can use on its phones. There is no domestic competitor chipset with 5G support in China either. Among the possibilities is that Huawei may have gained access to older Snapdragon 8 chipsets with 5G support. It is possible that the USA has stretched the embargo, as its competitiveness with the flagships of the period will decrease considerably.
