HP develops a new type of computer with artificial intelligence

HP CEO Enrique Lores said artificial intelligence will enable a new type of computer to hit the market in 2024. The company has started work.

HP’s head Enrique Lores announced that the company will launch PCs early next year with a new architecture that allows users to actively work with AI systems, leaving the most sensitive data within the native computing infrastructure.

As mentioned, HP’s partners on the component development side of the new platform will be AMD, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm. In an interview with CNBC, the company’s president explained that the HP company is also collaborating with software developers, including AI service providers, in this area. According to Lores, the partners are faced with the task of developing some kind of personal computers that will significantly speed up data analysis, but will not transmit confidential information to third-party servers.

The HP CEO also says that cloud connectivity will still be required, so not all computing will be done locally, but users won’t have to worry about keeping sensitive information safe and secure.

Real opportunity to create a new category of PC

“We think there is a real opportunity to create a new category of PCs. we are working.” said. According to Lores, such groundbreaking computers will hit the market as early as 2024.

As an example of such a platform, he cited the processing of large amounts of data by a personal computer and generating a human-readable report. The system will also allow to improve the presentation of analysis results and extract results by processing simple user queries in natural language form.
